Seniors discover the city: Mayor informs about developments!
On February 6, 2026, a colorful city tour of the senior citizens' advisory board took place at the invitation of the seniors' advisory board. The event was a complete success and was attended by many participants. The city's first mayor, Stefan Frank, was also present and accompanied the seniors during the tour, which lasted about an hour and a half and covered a distance of around 37 kilometers through the city.
The senior representative, Roland Maul, welcomed the participants in the fully occupied bus and opened the tour with an informative speech. During the trip, Mayor Frank provided information on a variety of topics of interest to citizens. This included existing companies and new company settlements that are intended to strengthen the city's economy.
Urban development in focus
Another important point on the agenda was the new building areas that are to be developed in the coming years. Frank also gave updates on ongoing canal construction work in Czeikestrasse and Hammerphilippsburg as well as bridge construction work being carried out in the city. He particularly welcomed the construction of the new daycare center at the Krötenseeschule, which will make a contribution to early childhood education.
In addition, the mayor provided information about the district's ongoing construction work, which includes important infrastructure projects. This includes the expansion of the cycle path in Obersdorf and the renovation of the high school gymnasium, which will benefit many students.
An unfortunate point that Mayor Frank raised was the insolvency of the pipe factory, which unfortunately also has an impact on the local economy.
Social gathering
After the informative tour, the event ended in a friendly atmosphere with coffee and cake. These delicacies were prepared by Brigitte Riederer and her team in the ecumenical social station, where the participants were able to exchange ideas and have nice conversations.
Overall, the city tour not only offered exciting information about developments in the city, but also the opportunity for the seniors to meet and exchange ideas once again. Such events are a valuable part of the community and promote contact with each other.
