German-American friendship: Mayor welcomes US soldiers in Sulzbach-Rosenberg
The city of Sulzbach-Rosenberg recently welcomed a special visitor who is intended to revive the long-standing friendship with the “Strykers” of the US Army. Mayor Stefan Frank welcomed a delegation from the 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, from the Rose Barracks in Vilseck. Guests included Lt. Col. James Anderson, Command Sergeant Major Fausto Trivino and Major Colin Reynolds, who came to City Hall along with U.S. Army Press Secretary Franz Zeilmann.
The deputy mayors, Günter Koller and Hildegard Geismann, were also present at this introductory visit. Particularly noteworthy is the participation of Christl Pelikan-Geismann, the wife of former mayor Gerd Geismann, who is considered an “ambassador” for German-American friendship. She didn't miss the opportunity to warmly welcome the delegation to Sulzbach-Rosenberg.
An exchange of gifts and ideas
A lively conversation took place in the mayor's room, in which not only the existing relationships were discussed, but also the possibility of expanding them further in the future. The exchange of gifts was a beautiful custom that symbolized the friendly ties between the two sides. After the conversation, guests had the opportunity to tour the town hall, which gave visitors an insight into local administration and culture.
The delegation and city representatives agreed that it is important to intensify contacts. The numerous festivals and events in Sulzbach-Rosenberg offer an excellent platform to deepen relations and strengthen friendship between the two nations.
