Inclusion Award 2026: Make the change visible! Apply!
The 2026 Inclusion Award was officially announced on November 11, 2025. The city of Amberg called on everyone interested to submit applications or suggestions to recognize notable initiatives in the area of inclusion. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2026. Suggestions can be sent to Mr. Tobias Berz, Spitalgraben 3, 92224 Amberg, or by email to inklusion@amberg.de. There is also the option to submit an accompanying video.
The award ceremony will take place on April 14, 2026 in the König-Ruprecht-Saal of the Amberg-Sulzbach district office during the plenary meeting of the inclusion alliance. With this award, the city of Amberg would like to make successful inclusion visible and reward the commitment of individuals, groups and organizations that are committed to the participation of people with disabilities. The total prize money is 3,000 euros and can be divided among several winners. The use of the prize money for future inclusion projects is expressly desired.
Target group and those entitled to make suggestions
The Inclusion Prize appeals to a broad audience. Individuals, groups, projects, clubs, schools, companies as well as life's work and collaborations are eligible to nominate. The Amberg-Sulzbach Inclusion Advisory Board will form the jury and examine the submitted suggestions. Voluntary commitments that have already been made and are not financially motivated are taken into account.
The Inclusion Prize in Amberg is part of a larger trend to promote inclusion, which is also becoming increasingly important on an economic level. The Inclusion Prize for Business 2024 is awarded under the motto “Inclusion is convincing” and honors companies from various federal states that stand out through exemplary training and employment of people with disabilities. Olaf Guttzeit, CEO of the UnternehmensForum, emphasizes the advantages of inclusion, while Hubertus Heil, Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, emphasizes its importance in view of the shortage of skilled workers.
