Carnival magic in Hahnbach: parade with 50 groups on February 15th!
The Hahnbach carnival parade is just around the corner and promises to be a colorful and happy event for the entire community. On February 15, 2026 at 2 p.m., the procession will start at the Oberen Tor and be lined up in the bypass and Amberger Straße in the specified order. Hahnbach reports that almost 50 groups have already confirmed their participation, including over 30 walking groups, which only increases the anticipation.
Georg Götz, the chairman of the Hahnbach cultural committee, says that he expects further registrations, which could increase the colorful diversity of the procession. Participants can look forward to a creative opening, where the procession is traditionally led by a jack-of-all-trades. The guests will be greeted with a warm “Hahnbach – Helau”, which will create a carnival atmosphere.
Entertainment and participatory activities
Musical entertainment will be provided by masked market brass musicians and various floats that will immerse you in the cheerful atmosphere of the carnival. Knappnesia Sulzbach-Rosenberg is also among the participating groups, which will provide additional atmosphere. In addition, princesses and princes will be present with their court, and the Prinzengarde from Weigendorf will be presenting the “Dance Thunderstorm” program and a “Teenie Guard” for the first time.
In a special participation offer, the registered groups will receive boxes of sweets in the town hall from 1.15 p.m., while they will be prepared to give small gifts and drinks for the young spectators in the surrounding area. This not only ensures joy, but also promotes the community spirit that characterizes the Hahnbach carnival.
Security measures and after-party
In order to ensure the safety of all participants, especially small children, the horsepower of the teams and the volume of the music had to be reduced. Every spinning wheel also needs a sober companion to ensure this. This is seen as an important step to allow families to celebrate and enjoy the train.
After the train, the Hahnbach innkeepers as well as the girls' group and the boys' club invite you to join in the merrymaking at the Amberger Tor. Here visitors can enjoy the carnival to the fullest and celebrate together. Preparations are in full swing and the anticipation for an unforgettable celebration continues to grow.
