Dental gold for Mering: Dentists collect over 1200 euros for a good cause!
Dentist Marcus Besler from Mering has been involved with the Mering Foundation since 2020 as part of the Donors' House. He was the first dentist in the region to join this unique project. The initiative to collect dental gold donations shows how the practice not only serves dental treatment, but also wants to make an active contribution to the community. In 2024, Besler managed to collect a total of 1,200 euros through generous dental gold donations. This sum was ceremoniously handed over to Mayor Florian A. Mayer, chairman of the foundation board.
Besler, who runs an order-only practice in his practice, attaches particular importance to personal care for his patients. “The time scheduled for you is reserved exclusively for you,” emphasizes the practice, in order to avoid long waiting times. Appointments that cannot be kept should ideally be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to ensure smooth planning. This customer-oriented philosophy is also reflected in its social commitment.
Teamwork for a good cause
In order to further expand the dental gold donation initiative, Besler is holding discussions with other dentists in Mering in order to recruit additional dental practices for this valuable community campaign. The dental gold donations collected are not only financially important, but also contribute to regional solidarity and support.
In addition to Besler's commitment, there are national initiatives that collect dental gold in dental practices. According to dkhv.de, dental gold pieces such as inlays, onlays or bridges can be donated, which otherwise often only have a low value. These donations support families with children who suffer from life-limiting illnesses by accompanying and supporting them on their often difficult journey through life. The dental gold collected enables outpatient support, educational opportunities and personal contacts for affected families.
These measures make it clear how important it is to take on social responsibility and actively work for the well-being of the community. Marcus Besler's initiative is an example of how individual commitment can generate a positive wave of support that goes beyond one's own practice.
