Friedberger Julia Fröhlich receives the Blue Diamond in Munich!
Julia Fröhlich from the Friedberg city administration was awarded the renowned “Blue Diamond”. This honor took place today in Munich as part of a celebratory event at which Bavaria's Digital Minister Dr. Fabian Mehring presented the award. The “Blue Diamond” is specifically awarded to people who make outstanding contributions to training, further education and training in the Bavarian administration. Mayor Roland Eichmann and the managing official Stefan Kreitmeyr were pleased with the recognition of Fröhlich's commitment.
Fröhlich, who is responsible for personnel and organizational development at the city of Friedberg, also contributes her expertise as a lecturer. The importance of their work is underlined by the principles of the Bavarian Administrative School, which demands that education be conveyed “from practice for practice”. This year, a total of 29 people were honored, including Klaus Dieter Köhler, who was honored for his life's work.
The importance of training in the public service
At the award ceremony, Bavaria's Interior and Local Government Minister Joachim Herrmann emphasized that more than 1,300 lecturers from Bavaria are active at the Bavarian Administrative School. These lecturers prepare trainees for everyday work in the public service by imparting both professional skills and values such as integrity and responsibility. The BVS trains over 3,000 new trainees every year and has around 34,000 training participants.
As the largest trainer and further education provider in the public service in Germany, BVS has been supporting young people as well as experienced specialists and managers for over a century. BVS has recently adapted its training program to the current challenges, in particular by founding the Bavarian Digital Academy. This is intended to help prepare public sector employees for the challenges of digitalization.
Further training and career perspectives
The Main Office for Public Service Education (HföD) in Bavaria offers dual study programs that combine theoretical knowledge with practical professional experience. Compensation during your studies and a job guarantee after graduation are part of the attractive offer. Free accommodation at all study locations rounds off the package to ensure entry into the public service.
The first modular qualification offers are already available online for 2026, and registration for the courses is now possible. The HföD will also be present at various study and career fairs in Bavaria in 2025. In the past, they provided information about dual study opportunities in the public service at the study fair in Coburg on October 18, 2023.
These awards and educational opportunities demonstrate the importance and commitment that goes into administrative education to prepare future generations for the challenges of public service.
