New civil servant candidates start their training in Weiden

In the city of Weiden i.d.OPf. there is a breath of fresh air in the town hall. Four new civil service candidates have recently started their training and the city administration is proud to welcome these young talents. The new candidates are Sophia Kratsch, Laura Pretzl, Verena Fischer and Stefan Bodenmeier, all of whom will work in different areas of public administration.

What is particularly noteworthy is that Sophia Kratsch is the first candidate archive inspector to be trained in the city. She will work in the city archives until the end of October 2024 and start studying at the University of Bavaria for the Public Service in the department of archives and libraries. She will complete most of her practical training at the State Archives in Munich. After her three-year studies, she will work in the archives of the city of Weiden.

Wide range of possible uses

The other three candidates, Laura Pretzl, Verena Fischer and Stefan Bodenmeier, will serve in the town hall until October 4, 2024. Her responsibilities span various departments, including public policy, IT and urban planning. From October 7, 2024, they will then be forwarded to the University of Civil Service, Department of General Internal Administration.

Mayor Jens Meyer ceremoniously presented the new candidates with their certificates and congratulated them on the start of their training. “It is a pleasure for us to give young people the opportunity to further their education in public administration and to actively shape their professional future,” said Meyer. These training opportunities are not only a benefit for the candidates, but also for the city, which can benefit from fresh ideas and perspectives.

The city of Weiden is setting an example for the promotion of young talent in administration and shows how important it is to involve young people in public services. This initiative not only strengthens the quality of administration, but also promotes the loyalty of new employees to the city.
