Municipality of Krummennaab: New care project and holiday program presented

At the last meeting of the local council, an exciting project was presented that concerns the cooperation between the communities of Krummennaab, Friedenfels and Reuth. Eva Neugirg from the “Steinwaldnetz” district management presented the application for the “Pflegelotse” project. This project, which is generously supported by the Free State, could offer citizens in the region valuable support. If the municipality of Krummennaab wins the contract, a half-day position will be created to help people with questions about care. This office will primarily operate on a mobile basis and is intended to provide citizens with comprehensive advice.

Afterwards, youth representative Barbara Neugirg presented this year's holiday program. From July 15th, the dates offered can be booked online, as in previous years. She mentioned that this will probably be her penultimate holiday program as she will no longer be available for personal reasons after the 2026 local elections. The mayor and the entire council thanked her for the extensive planning and her 17 years in this role.

Important decisions and projects

Another item on the agenda was the awarding of the contract for the rooftop PV system in the Gasthof-Metzgerei-Dorfladen in Premenreuth. The local council chose the Krisch company from Tirschenreuth, which submitted the most economical offer of 39,030 euros.

A building application for a horse stable with ten boxes in Escheldorf was also approved as there were no legal concerns against it. In addition, an application for the establishment of a physiotherapy practice with an operator's apartment in the commercial ring caused joy among the local councilors. This decision confirms the earlier plan to designate and develop commercial space.

An amusing letter from the agricultural office made people smile. The municipality was asked to appoint a responsible “forestry manager for the municipal forest”. Since these are very small areas, the administration will look for a solution, possibly by working with a forestry association or the forestry department.

The community has decided not to take part in energy coaching plus, as the only thing left to do is convert the heating system in the multi-purpose building. The fire department houses are already heated with CO2-free heating.

The administrative community was commissioned to take the necessary steps to replace the screening and sand trap system at the wastewater treatment plant and to submit a funding application to the Weiden Water Management Office. You can expect state funding of 250 euros per resident.

Another point was the purpose agreement between the VG Krummennaab, the municipality of Krummennaab, the municipality of Reuth and the municipality of Friedenfels regarding the connection of Friedenfels to the shared sewage treatment plant. The majority of the committee voted in favor of this because the connection would not incur any costs for the citizens of the VG and operations could be made more economical in the long term. Only GR Helmut-Stefan Neugirg expressed concerns due to the previous history.

Finally, Mayor Prucker passed on an appeal from the district administrator. The district is looking for space to set up living containers for around 20 asylum seekers. Since the municipality does not have its own suitable areas, the citizens are asked to report appropriate areas and make them available free of charge.
