Discover the museums in the Tirschenreuth district with the podcast
A new podcast brings a breath of fresh air to the museum landscape in the Tirschenreuth district. The two journalists Ralph Würschinger and Lukas Fleischmann have launched their project “PLEASE DON’T TOUCH!” The aim is to present the region's museums in a very special way. In collaboration with the museum association das zwoelfer, they offer listeners the opportunity to acoustically discover the cultural treasures of the area.
In July, the two hosts conducted interviews at various locations and documented the unique features of the district's museums. The first episode, which aired on September 1st, is dedicated to Zoigl, a traditional brewery with deep roots in the region. Listeners can look forward to exciting insights into history and the art of brewing, which are clearly presented in the museums in Mitterteich and Tirschenreuth.
A look at regional crafts
In addition to the Zoigl tradition, the podcast will also shed light on the craft of glassmaking. The listeners learn how window glass is created from raw materials such as sand and soda through various work steps. Visits to the Plößberg Glass Furnace Building Museum and the Waldsassen Stiftland Museum are part of this informative trip. Lambert's glassworks is not left out either, offering listeners a comprehensive overview of this fascinating craft.
In the coming episodes, the hosts will also address important personalities from the region and discuss their influence during the Nazi era. Another topic will be life on the border, which has had a lasting impact on the region. Each episode introduces two museums and examines the topics from different perspectives, giving listeners a deeper insight into the region's history and culture.
The relaxed and entertaining style of moderation ensures that listeners are not only informed but also entertained. Smaller museums in particular, which are often overshadowed by large tourist attractions, are brought into focus. This creates interest in visiting these places yourself and learning more about the local history.
The podcast series will be published weekly on all major platforms in September. If you don't want to miss an episode, you can listen to the podcast “PLEASE DON'T TOUCH!” Subscribe to platforms like Apple Music or Spotify. The episodes are also available on the website www.escucha.de. In the future, QR codes in the museums will point to the podcasts so that visitors can receive an entertaining audio guide on various topics.
For anyone who would like to get a foretaste of the content, we recommend the episode about the German Button Museum in Bärnau, which is available under a special link. The collaboration between the museum association das zwoelfer and the podcast is supported by the state office for non-state museums in Bavaria.
