Current information on the drinking water supply in Kulmain-Ziegelhütte

Dear citizens of Kulmain and Ziegelhütte!

Unfortunately, the situation surrounding the drinking water supply did not develop as planned. The original plan was to lift the boiling water requirement by August 30, 2024, but various unforeseen circumstances prevented this. Here is the latest information on the developments.

On August 21, 2024, a UV system was ordered from the company EnWaT in Austria. This should be delivered by Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the latest. According to the manufacturer, the system was shipped on Monday, August 26, 2024. However, there were delays, so delivery only took place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, after intensive inquiries.

Installation of the disinfection system

The EnWaT company has now started installing the disinfection system in the elevated tank. This process will be completed on Thursday, August 29, 2024. After installation, a water sample will be collected on Friday, August 30, 2024. Results from this sample are expected to be available on Monday, September 2, 2024.

If the water sample meets the specified limit values of the Drinking Water Ordinance 2023 and the health department gives approval, the boiling water requirement can be lifted on the afternoon of September 2, 2024. Until then, the boiling requirement remains in place and the water should only be used in boiled form for drinking and cooking purposes.

We ask for your understanding in this challenging situation. Compliance with official requirements is necessary to ensure that drinking water is available in perfect condition.

Important information about the use of water

It is important to note that drinking water is used for a variety of purposes including drinking, cooking, and personal care. Water for food businesses must also meet the strict requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. Therefore, only boiled water should be used here to ensure safety.
