Falkenberg Kirchweih 2024: celebration, feasting and fun for the whole family!
Falkenberg is in the starting blocks for the annual parish fair, which is traditionally celebrated on the third weekend in September. The anticipation of the festival is palpable, and the city's inns are preparing to treat their guests to a variety of delicious dishes. In the “Golden Star” and the “Red Ochsen” visitors can look forward to delicacies such as goose, duck, venison and carp. These culinary highlights promise a feast that will make the hearts of gourmets beat faster.
On Monday it gets particularly lively in the Prockl family's inn, as live music is played there for breakfast. This creates a cheerful atmosphere that invites you to linger. The Kirchweih is not only a celebration of culinary delights, but also a place where the community meets and celebrates together.
Entertainment for young and old
Another highlight this year is the return of the Kirwa Disco, which is organized by the DJK in the Lindner Hall. DJ HeikoH will ensure the right atmosphere on Saturday evening. Entry costs five euros and the doors open at 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for younger visitors to dance and have an unforgettable night.
There is a new program for the little guests this year, which is organized by the local clubs and the market town. Weather permitting, children can jump on a bouncy castle or have fun on a small carousel from Saturday to Monday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. On Sunday there is also a climbing offer on the Burgfelsen in the Schwaige, which attracts adventurous children and young people. The young climbers can also put their skills to the test on Monday, weather permitting.
Of course, the sweet treats shouldn't be missing either. From roasted almonds to coconut macaroons, there is something for every taste. The Kirchweih is therefore not only a celebration of tradition, but also a celebration of joy and enjoyment for the whole family.
Another highlight is the opening of Falkenberg Castle to interested visitors. A guided tour is offered at 3:30 p.m., providing an insight into the history and beauty of the castle. The meeting point is at the castle bridge and prior registration is not necessary. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the historic site and learn more about the region.
