Villa Kunterbunt: New space for creative development in Wackersdorf
The municipality of Wackersdorf has converted the Villa Kunterbunt children's home in Heselbach. New rooms have been created on the upper floor of the building, which was previously only used sporadically. These are now intended for a mixed-age group. The renovation work was carried out after 2018. The costs for the project amount to around 230,000 euros.
Inauguration and thanks
mayorThomas Falterthanked everyone involved at the inauguration. “Planning began in March, commissioning of the companies in May, construction began at the beginning of June and completion in September – the rapid implementation is evidence of the excellent cooperation,” said the mayor. Also the facility managerBrigitte Schmidhuberpraised the work: “The new room layout created great educational added value.” A new, closed area for the mixed-age shooting star group has also been created.
Details of the renovation work
The existing rooms were renovated and converted into different rooms. This includes a group side room, a meeting and staff room as well as storage rooms. The existing kindergarten toilets were also renovated. The dining room received a new kitchen and new furniture and sun protection blinds were purchased. Villa Kunterbunt now offers space for two kindergarten and two crèche groups as well as a new mixed-age group. In total, the community of Wackersdorf has 150 kindergarten places, up to 75 mixed-age group places and 60 crèche places in three children's homes.
