The Schwarzhofen market has successfully pushed forward broadband expansion in the market area. Two expansion processes have already been completed with the support of the Free State. Since May 2024, the expansion has been carried out as part of a third process. In the districts of Meischendorf, Altenhammer, Holzhof, Uckersdorf, Höfen bei Uckersdorf, Girnitz as well as for the individual farm Demeldorf 1 and parts of Zangenstein, the fiber optic network is being expanded by Deutsche Telekom.
Details about the expansion
A total of 68 new house connections have already been completed. For six households, minor connection work is still necessary. This means that households in the Schwarzhofen market area that were previously poorly supplied are now connected to a high-performance fiber optic network.
Kollmer Bohr und Tiefbau GmbH from Kirchenthumbach is carrying out the work for Deutsche Telekom. The company has proven to be a reliable partner and has responded to the wishes of residents. The contact person at Deutsche Telekom was also always available and showed a high level of commitment.
Investments and importance
Apart from minor remaining work, the broadband expansion has now been completed. The fiber optic connections can already be used as long as a fiber optic connection box is installed. The Schwarzhofen market invested 812,786 euros in the expansion and received funding from the Free State of Bavaria amounting to 731,506 euros. Overall, the Schwarzhofen market's investments in broadband expansion amount to 1,783,825 euros.
