Franz Scharf, a well-known face in the town of Schwandorf, recently celebrated a remarkable anniversary. On September 1, 1984, he joined the city's construction operations department and began his career in the parks sector. Since then he has worked tirelessly to beautify the city.
A trained gardener, Scharf has accomplished an impressive amount of work over the past 40 years. He estimates that he has planted over a million flower bulbs, many of them painstakingly handcrafted. He has also planted hundreds of trees in the city, which helps ensure that Schwandorf is in full bloom all year round. His passion for nature and his commitment to the city are evident.

Scharf was honored at a celebratory event by Mayor Andreas Feller and Jürgen Liebl, the deputy head of the municipal building department.
