Career Information Day 2024: Students discover their future in Burglengenfeld
The career information day, or BIT for short, took place at the Sophie Scholl Middle School on Wednesday. The event is celebrating its eighth edition this year. Around 370 students took part. They came not only from the Sophie Scholl Middle School, but also from the Maxhütte-Haidhof and Teublitz middle schools. The aim of the BIT is to bring students and training companies together. This has been happening for over ten years.
Opening with many guests
The deputy district administrator spoke at the openingRichard Tischler. He said: "You probably don't know it, but you can consider yourself lucky: a decade ago you were the applicants: now it's the companies that are applying to you." The organizers draw a positive conclusion. They report record participation.
Diverse offers for students
Over 70 stations offered students the opportunity to find out about various apprenticeships. Speakers and trainees presented their professions in lectures and at information stands. Students in grades 7 to 10 heard at least two presentations and were then able to exchange ideas with company representatives. This gave them valuable insights into professional fields such as nursing, technology, administration and crafts.
Encouragement to choose a career
The participation of regional companies was high. mayorThomas Gescheand rectorMichael Chwatalencouraged the students to approach their career choice with an open mind. “You are the skilled workers of tomorrow,” said the mayor, “make something of your future.” The event offers young people the chance to explore their professional interests and make their first contacts.
