Free information event: Photovoltaics for your home!
The municipality of Wiesent invites you to a free information event about photovoltaics and electricity storage in your own home on October 23, 2025. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Wiesent town hall, Bahnhofstr. 1, instead. The speaker Simon Berger from Consumer Service Bavaria e.V. will provide information about the possibilities of purchasing new systems, the continued operation of existing systems as well as energy management systems and funding opportunities. No prior registration is required.
Photovoltaic systems are becoming increasingly popular among homeowners. The possibility of achieving a high return of between 5 and 10% is particularly possible if there is a high level of personal consumption. Although the feed-in tariff has fallen in recent years - from €0.43/kWh in 2010 to currently €0.09/kWh - the reduced acquisition costs and rising electricity prices continue to make investing in photovoltaics attractive. The Fraunhofer Institute confirms that photovoltaics remains a worthwhile investment despite the changing conditions.
Presentation of profitability
The claim that the returns from photovoltaic systems are exaggerated is unfounded according to current studies and harsh assumptions. Consumers should be aware that high self-consumption is crucial to profitability. For example, a 10 kWh system can generate around 8,000 euros in profit for the operator within 20 years. The use of photovoltaic storage can further increase profitability by making optimal use of excess solar energy. Current calculations show annual savings of up to €540 associated with the use of electricity storage.
However, the idea that such a user system without storage is attractive is only true in special cases, such as optimal yields. Crucial factors that influence profitability include solar radiation, roof orientation, acquisition costs and personal electricity consumption. In most cases, feeding electricity fully into the grid is no longer profitable. As a result, photovoltaics with electricity storage are considered an interesting option, even with higher investment costs.
Future trends in solar energy
With regard to the development of solar energy, current trends are promising. Interest in solar energy will continue to grow in the coming years, supported by falling costs and technical advances in energy storage. Industry experts emphasize the need to further communicate the advantages of photovoltaic systems and to refute prejudices about returns. Properly informed consumers can benefit both economically and ecologically from investing in photovoltaics.
