Fiber optic expansion in Wiesent starts: traffic affected from February 20th to March!
The long-awaited fiber optic expansion will begin in Wiesent on February 20, 2026. The work is being carried out by Laber-Naab-Infrastructure (LNI) and is an important step towards modernizing the digital infrastructure in the region. In order to be able to carry out the required civil engineering work efficiently and thoroughly, various methods are used, including the directional drilling method.
As part of the project, main routes will be laid out in the direction of Kruckenberg, Wörth and the industrial area. However, this work will not be carried out without disruption to traffic. The construction routes will be partially blocked or even restricted on one side. Particularly affected are the Bahndammweg from the sports center towards Kruckenberg to the state road, the Sägewerkstrasse at the sports field and the Bahnhofstrasse towards the commercial area, which will be closed on one side.
Traffic restrictions and duration of the work
The construction company AYTAC has taken responsibility for carrying out the work. The aim is to keep the disruption to residents and passers-by as low as possible. Residents are asked to prepare for possible restrictions. The estimated duration of the construction work is until March 20, 2026.
Overall, this expansion represents a significant improvement in internet connections in Wiesent, which will not only increase the quality of life for residents, but also increase the attractiveness of the location for companies. It remains to be hoped that the work will go smoothly and the restrictions can be lifted as quickly as possible.
