B16 Wenzenbach exit: closure announced from September 16th

Starting next week, there will be some changes for drivers in Wenzenbach that they should be aware of. The exit and entrance of the B16 in the direction of Regensburg will be closed from September 16, 2024 until probably September 28, 2024. This measure affects the Wenzenbach exit for vehicles coming from Cham, as well as the entrance to the B16 towards Regensburg. The good news is that the opposite direction, i.e. the driveway towards Cham from Regensburg, is not affected.

The state public works department released this information on Monday, saying drivers can use alternative routes during this time. The entrances and exits in Bernhardswald and Gonnersdorf are available to make the diversion easier. A large-scale diversion will be set up for trucks and heavy traffic to avoid traffic jams and delays.

Background to the lockdown

The reason for this closure is the connection to the new western bypass west of Wenzenbach. This bypass will be connected to the roundabout at the entrance to Wenzenbach and will help to relieve traffic in the local area over the course of autumn 2024. During the construction work, there will also be temporary disruptions and closures in the area of Unterlindhofstrasse between Wenzenbach and Roith as asphalting work is being carried out there.

The city administration asks all road users to understand the inconvenience caused by this necessary construction work. It is recommended that you follow traffic advisories and, if necessary, plan alternative routes to avoid delays.
