New WolfgangWeg: Pilgrimage from Pfullingen to Regensburg started
The pilgrimage route from Pfullingen to Regensburg is being reopened. This path leads through the area of the municipality of Sinzing. It is around 340 kilometers long and begins in the birthplace of St. Wolfgang. The last two stages run through the municipality of Sinzing.
First ascent of the WolfgangWeg
The official first ascent took place from October 4th to 22nd, 2024. Two pilgrims completed the entire route. Many foot pilgrims from the region also took part. The 18th stage ended in Eilsbrunn with a service in the Wolfgangskirche. PastorGötzled the service, followed by a tour of the church with the local caretakerDr. Chrobak.
The last stage took place on October 22nd after a joint church service. This was from PastorGötzand deanFriedlcelebrated from Pfullingen. The pilgrim blessing was given in Eilsbrunn. The pilgrims visited the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Calvary Church. A shared snack strengthened the participants. A devotion with BishopDr. Voderholzerand pastorfoxfollowed.
Completion of the pilgrimage
The visit to St. Peter's Cathedral in Regensburg was the highlight of the trip. A reception also took place in the Elector's Room in the Old Town Hall in Regensburg.
