Design your life: New exercise course for seniors in Schierling

A new exercise program will soon start in Schierling, aimed at older people. The GESTALT program, which stands for WALKING, GAMES and DANCE, offers a great opportunity to get active and make new friends. It consists of a ten-part course complemented by three small excursions to offer participants a varied experience.

The organizers, including Mayor Christian Kiendl and his deputy Maria Feigl, are thrilled that the offer has been so well received. Richard Rohrer from TV Schierling and Dr. Simone Eckert from Gesundheitregionplus also supports the project. The course is being offered for the third time and starts in September.

Details about the GESTALT course

The course is aimed at people aged 60 and over and is ideal for anyone who may not have been active for a while. No previous knowledge is required, so anyone can take part. Participants can expect a varied exercise program that promotes both physical and mental abilities. Helga Angerer will lead the course and ensure that the units are both informative and entertaining.

The course starts on September 26th and takes place every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the sports room of the adult education center (Hauptstraße 3a). The participation fee is 45 euros and there is a “trial bonus” for first-time participants. Binding registration is required before the course begins. Anyone interested can register at the Health Regionplus office at the Regensburg district office or directly with the trainer, Ms. Angerer. Registration by telephone is also possible at 0941 4009-780.
