Progress in the construction of the new clubhouse in Eggmühl

The new SV Eggmühl clubhouse, which officially began with the groundbreaking ceremony in August 2023, is now taking shape. The shell has now been completed and work on the interior is in full swing. The walls have already been plastered in many places and the changing rooms are showing initial progress with recognizable shower cubicles. What is particularly striking is the large common room, which impresses with its impressive window front.

The members of SV Eggmühl are extremely committed and are actively involved in the construction work. They take on various tasks, including electrical installations, painting and designing the outdoor areas. These personal contributions are an important part of the project and contribute significantly to progress. Mayor Christian Kiendl, together with sports director Roland Härtinger and his predecessor Klaus Olbrich, visited the construction site to get an idea of the current status. "The visible progress and the club's committed cooperation are pleasing. The new clubhouse will be a real benefit for the community and the sports community in Eggmühl," said the mayor during his visit.

Challenges and funding

An unexpected setback occurred when bad weather delayed construction of the roof structure late last year. Despite these difficulties, the project remains on track and is targeted for completion in early 2025. The project, which costs around 1.6 million euros, is being financed through a combination of funds from the market town of Schierling and SV Eggmühl. The market has promised a voluntary grant of 1.3 million euros and the loan was taken out at an annual interest rate of less than 1 percent. The market community plans to repay the loan within the ten-year interest rate period.

Due to the delay in the start of construction, the money could be invested safely in the short term. This investment has already resulted in a pleasing 22,000 euros in interest, while 720,000 euros have been drawn down by the club so far. The committed cooperation of the club members and the solid financing show that the new clubhouse in Eggmühl is on a promising path.
