Happy Holidays in Regenstauf: A look back and a look ahead to 2026!

On December 22nd, 2025 we will receive festive Christmas and New Year greetings from the Regenstauf town hall. In this contemplative time, when festively decorated streets and apartments invite you to celebrate Christmas, we can look back on a successful year for the Regenstauf market. The mayor, Josef Schindler, emphasizes the importance of family, friends and reflection during this time.

Over the course of the year, the Regenstauf market saw some significant progress. One of the most important successes is the completion of the barrier-free expansion of the local thoroughfare. In addition, the quality of stay was improved by setting up benches in various areas. These measures benefit the citizens of the community and strengthen a sense of belonging.

Investments in the fire service and education

Another point in the greetings is the planned investments in the local fire departments. New vehicles are being ordered for the four district fire departments - Regenstauf, Diesenbach, Karlstein and Eitlbrunn - and are scheduled to be delivered between 2024 and 2027. Delivery of the vehicles for Regenstauf and Diesenbach is already planned for the end of 2025, while delivery for Karlstein is planned for 2026 and for Eitlbrunn in 2027. The topping-out ceremony for the Diesenbach fire department's new fire department took place at the end of October 2025, with completion in the first half of 2026.

In the education sector, a renovation of the school teaching kitchen at the middle school on Schlossberg is planned. There are also renovation plans for the Regenstauf Stadium in 2026, which will benefit both sports development and the community.

Climate-friendly measures and thanks to volunteers

Another focus of the news is environmentally friendly initiatives. Old fossil heating systems are to be replaced by climate-friendly pellet heating systems in existing buildings. The heating systems of the elementary school and the gymnasium in Diesenbach are scheduled for renovation in 2026. These measures demonstrate the community's commitment to sustainable developments.

Mayor Josef Schindler takes the opportunity to thank the people who work in hospitals, nursing homes, the fire department, the police, the emergency services and in pastoral care during the holidays. Volunteers in clubs and parishes also receive special recognition for their work, which strengthens the community.

In the final greetings, the mayor and the municipal administration wish the population a merry and peaceful Christmas, relaxing hours and a good start into the new year 2026. Together, happiness, health and success should accompany the citizens in the coming year.
