Nittendorf starts dementia project: safety and well-being for everyone!

In January 2026, the “Dementia-Sensible Municipality” project will start in the Nittendorf market, which aims to offer people with dementia a safe and comfortable environment. This initiative is supported by the Bavarian Dementia Fund and is intended to help raise awareness of the needs of people with dementia. Nittendorf reports that the kick-off event for this important project will take place on January 31, 2026 at the generation meeting, Brunnenstraße 3, at 1:00 p.m.

The project includes a variety of planned events aimed at improving the quality of life of people with memory disorders. This includes regular meetings in the generation meeting, information events and a free course for caring relatives. In addition, training is planned for employees in the community and at local businesses.

Networking and information exchange

A central element of the project is collaboration with associations, care facilities and doctors to create a comprehensive network. This network is intended to help ensure that relatives of people with dementia receive support and that their concerns and needs are taken seriously. Nittendorf emphasized that there will be regular meetings and discussions for relatives to promote exchange.

In addition, a monthly column about the disease dementia will appear in the Markt Nittendorf newsletter, which aims to inform both those affected and those interested. The project is led by Sandra Kapinsky, who invites citizens to participate and help shape it.

Through these measures, the Nittendorf market aims to create greater awareness of dementia and to establish a supportive environment for those affected and their relatives. The initiators hope that the population will actively participate in the planned offers and thus strengthen the community in dealing with dementia.
