Neutraubling relies on sustainability: VDE testing device for repair café!

In the Regensburg district, the repair café was equipped with a new VDE testing device. This generous donation, which will benefit the facility's volunteers, was presented by District Administrator Tanja Schweiger and Mayor Harald Stadler during their visit. The testing device is intended to help volunteers safely repair defective devices and thus contribute to sustainability.

The repair café, which has been open every first Saturday of the month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. since October 2024, is located in the lunchtime care room of the elementary school. With a high level of acceptance among the citizens of Neutraubling, the initiative has developed into an important meeting place for repairs and the preservation of old devices. In this context, the mayor particularly thanked Bernhard Bartko and Thomas Kästle for their tireless efforts.

Commitment of volunteers

During the event, District Administrator Tanja Schweiger spoke positively about the importance of pragmatic solutions in today's world. She emphasized the valuable work of the volunteers who are involved in the 14 repair cafés in the Regensburg district. The common goal is to offer environmentally friendly repair options and extend the life of devices.

The donation of the VDE testing device represents significant progress in improving the quality of repairs in the café. Volunteers can now ensure that electrical devices meet applicable safety standards, which further contributes to user safety.

A positive signal for the community

The high level of acceptance of the repair café among the citizens of Neutraubling shows that this type of initiative is not only practical, but also socially valuable. Support from the community in the form of donations, such as the new testing device, strengthens the commitment of volunteers and the connection to the population. It remains to be hoped that such projects will continue to be funded and supported in the future.
