Beginner swimming courses in Neutraubling: All places are taken!

The demand for swimming courses for children and young people in Neutraubling has reached a new peak this season. As the city of Neutraubling reports, the beginner swimming courses for 2025/2026 are already fully booked. This information was published on September 21, 2025 and affects all places offered for which there is no waiting list.

Parents who have questions or cancellations due to illness are invited to contact the indoor swimming pool directly. The team can be reached by phone at (09401) 800-742 or by email at hallenbad@stadt-neutraubling.de.

Course content and structure

The swimming courses offered are aimed at children aged at least five years. The aim is to give young participants joy and confidence in the water while at the same time learning basic breaststroke techniques. The focus here is also on swimming without aids, as well as acquiring knowledge of important bathing rules. Requirements are not always identical and it is emphasized that individual progress may vary.

The course consists of a total of 10 hours of 60 minutes each, which take place weekly on Mondays from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The course fee is 100 euros and the number of participants is limited to 15 children per class. However, registrations are currently no longer possible and there is no waiting list here either. Information about a self-made swimming course is available, in addition to the current course offering.

Swimming badges and security situation

The need for swimming lessons is highlighted by current swimming badge statistics. In 2023, a total of 94,784 swimming badges, including the popular seahorse badge, were issued in Germany. This represents an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous year. According to DLRG President Ute Vogt, this progress has been noticeable since the Corona pandemic and the associated energy saving measures.

What is particularly pleasing is the increase in the awarding of bronze badges, which also showed significant growth at 44,755 units. Nevertheless, the topic of swimming remains fraught with a certain security situation: in 2023, at least 378 people in Germany lost their lives due to drowning.

The DLRG, the largest water rescue organization in the world, strives to promote children's swimming skills and increase water safety through its programs and initiatives. Since the proportion of non-swimmers among six to ten year olds has increased to 20 percent compared to 2017, such courses are even more important.

Overall, it can be said that the swimming courses in Neutraubling play an important role in the training of young swimmers and the results of the last few years represent a positive sign regarding safety and swimming ability among the population.
