Mötzing Municipal Council: Important resolutions for solar projects on December 8th!

On December 8, 2025, an important meeting of the Mötzing municipal council will take place in the meeting room of the Sünching administrative community at 8:00 p.m. Important topics are on the agenda, including the swearing in of local councilor Thomas Saller and the appointment of a representative for the community meeting of VG Sünching. A central topic will be the Schafhöfen solar park, for which the implementation contract and the statutory resolution of the project-related development plan, “SO Solar Park and Battery Storage Mötzing/Schafhöfen”, will be discussed. Building applications, municipal heat planning and the renewal of street lighting in Schönach are also on the agenda. Mayor Reinhard Knott will also present a report on current developments. The public meeting is followed by a non-public meeting.

In connection with the Schafhöfen solar park, a new development and green space plan is available, the aim of which is to promote the use of solar energy in the region. The city administration has made the relevant planning documents available to the public. Interested citizens have until October 14, 2024 to view the documents, which are also available online. The city administration encourages citizens to review the documents and contact us if they have any questions or comments.

Promotion of solar energy

Municipal strategies to promote solar energy are becoming increasingly important. Such initiatives not only help reduce CO2 emissions, but also strengthen the local economy and create new jobs. Municipalities are increasingly relying on innovative concepts to promote renewable energies. This includes, for example, the creation of attractive support programs and financial incentives, information campaigns to raise public awareness and the integration of solar energy into local building regulations.

Citizens are called upon to actively participate in the planning and implementation of municipal energy transition strategies. Local initiatives and working groups provide a platform for this, while regular training courses and workshops impart the necessary knowledge. The various financial support options, such as grants, loans and tax relief, expand the prospects for solar projects in the region.

The close cooperation between the city administration, citizens and local companies is crucial in developing tailor-made solutions for the communities. An understanding of ecological change and the integration of intelligent energy networks are further steps towards a sustainable local energy base.

The upcoming meeting of the local council and the solar park project are examples of how communities can proactively shape the energy transition and promote the use of renewable energies. The city administration expects that the potential of solar energy will be fully exploited through the active involvement of citizens and innovative approaches.
