Rail replacement service between Nuremberg and Regensburg: Important information!
From February 6, 2026, a replacement rail service will be set up between Nuremberg and Regensburg. This is necessary due to an extensive general renovation of the route. The transport service is not only coordinated by the local transport authorities, but also announced in the RVV app, where the stop platforms are adjusted at short notice.
The replacement stops will be set up in the direction of Regensburg at the entrance to the Mühlwiese car park. Travelers heading towards Nuremberg can get on at Beratzhausener Straße, near Hademarweg 1. These stops will be marked with the name “Laaber Marktplatz”, while the existing path “am Marktplatz” will be taken out of service and provided with a corresponding sign.
Traffic restrictions during construction work
As part of the rail replacement service, there will also be speed restrictions on the state highway. This is limited to a maximum speed of 50 km/h. In addition, the speed from Bahnhofstrasse will be reduced to 30 km/h. Accessibility for travelers who want to get to the replacement stops from the north side of the railway tracks can only be guaranteed by half-closing the state road and setting up a traffic signal system. However, this solution was viewed by those involved as ineffective.
A map will be published to help travelers reach the replacement stops from Kronbügl. The adapted traffic routes and stop information are intended to enable commuters and travelers to change and travel smoothly during the construction period.
This phase of the general renovation will be a challenge for everyone involved, but the measures are necessary to improve the infrastructure in the long term. Travelers are urged to pay attention to the current information in the RVV app and to adjust their travel plans if necessary. Further details about the changes can be found on the website Laaber market.
