News from Laaber: Playground, bridge and construction projects in focus
At the last meeting of the Laaber Market Construction and Environmental Committee, which took place on August 6, 2024, several important issues affecting the infrastructure and recreational opportunities in the community were discussed. The members of the committee had the opportunity to visit various projects on site and make decisions to be implemented in the near future.
A central topic was the playground in Augasse. The new soccer goals were installed here and will soon be released for the children. In the back area of the playground, which serves as a water area, the sand was replaced with gravel to increase safety and fun. However, the existing pump still needs to be connected before the area can be fully used. Plants on the pergola and the installation of signs pointing to the nearest toilets are also being planned.
Bridge and parent stops in focus
Another topic was the “Sodlasteg” bridge. The bridge was also inspected due to damage to the footbridge planks. In addition to the existing offer for new wooden planks, the committee also plans to obtain another offer for metal mesh to make the bridge safer.
In addition, the locations for new parent stops near the Talweg kindergarten and the school were visited. The planned stops are to be set up on both the west and east sides of the kindergarten as well as at Schernrieder Straße 6 to enable parents to pick up their children safely.
Building applications approved
Several building applications and preliminary building inquiries were also discussed during the meeting. The committee approved the construction of a new residential building with a garage and the extension of an existing building into a semi-detached house with two garages on Schernrieder Straße. An application for the addition and expansion of a balcony on Regensburger Straße was also approved. A preliminary building application to change the use of an existing building to a manufacturing industry on Unterlichtenberger Straße was also approved.
These developments show the commitment of the Building and Environmental Committee to improve the quality of life in Laaber through targeted measures and to further expand the community's infrastructure.
