Laaber market town council approves budget for 2024 and important projects

At the last meeting of the Laaber market town council, which took place on September 9, 2024, important decisions were made for the financial and infrastructural development of the municipality. The budget for 2024 was approved unanimously, with the administrative budget ending with income and expenditure of 11,125,295 euros and the capital budget with 11,776,830 euros. The municipality plans to make numerous investments again this year, including measures to promote urban development, the expansion of roads and the renewal of canals.

Particularly noteworthy are the plans for the construction of a three-group daycare center and the preparations for a new fire station in Laaber. These projects are intended not only to improve infrastructure, but also to improve the quality of life of citizens.

New development plan for photovoltaic systems

Another important point on the agenda was the preparation of a project-related development plan for the construction of photovoltaic systems in the Högerlsee area. The market town council has approved this measure, which is intended to promote the use of renewable energy in the region. At the same time, the land use plan was adjusted to integrate the new developments.

In addition, the adjustment of the regional plan for wind energy was discussed. The Regensburg Regional Planning Association is planning to designate wind priority areas, which also affects Laaber. Two areas, one north of Anger and the other near Groß- and Kleinetzenberg, are in focus. However, the municipality has decided not to propose the area near Großetzenberg as a wind priority area. Despite the concerns expressed at a citizens' meeting, the market council unanimously decided not to raise any objections to the designation in the regional plan.

Resolutions from non-public meetings

Another important point was the exchange of land with the water management office, which is intended to make the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects easier. The contracts for the new construction of the three-group Talweg daycare center were also awarded, including work for plumbing, roofing and carpentry.

Finally, it was announced that tarring work will be carried out at the Hartlmühle campsite from September 23rd to November 15th, 2024. The municipality makes every effort to allow passage on weekends in order to keep disruption to visitors as low as possible. In addition, the order was placed to renew the Schrammlhof bridge, which should further increase traffic safety in the region.
