Cultural highlight in Hemau: Literary piano evening delights 70 guests!
Last Sunday, November 9th, 2025, the second literary piano evening took place in the Hemau City Library, which was part of the anniversary program for the library's 20th anniversary. Around 70 guests experienced an evening full of cultural highlights, musical performances and literary contributions.
The event began at 5 p.m. in the Hemauer Zehntstadel and was organized by the library team at the Hemau City Library. The pianist Lukas Klotz, a 14-time winner of international competitions, offered an impressive musical setting for the readings with his performances of Domenico Scarlatti, Franz Schubert and Frédéric Chopin.
Literary contributions
The evening was enriched by various lectures. City priest Berno Lässer opened the readings with a contribution from “Pardon, I am a Christian” by C. S. Lewis, which discusses Lewis’ path from atheism to faith. Mayor Herbert Tischhöfer followed with humorous short stories from “You can leave anything, you just have to want it” by Torsten Sträter, which were very well received by the audience.
The literary program was rounded off by Dr. Thomas Feuerer, head of the cultural department of the Regensburg district. He recited “The Seeteufel” by Werner Bergengruen, a bizarre, macabre story that contains darkly humorous elements. The variety of contributions made the evening a varied and inspiring experience for everyone present.
Culinary accompaniment and view
After the event, guests were invited to a champagne reception, where culinary delicacies were also offered. The number of participants showed the keen interest in cultural events in Hemau, and according to library director Karola Künzl, the evening was a complete success that enriched the city's cultural landscape.
The literary piano evening is part of the “Spielräume” cultural program series in the Regensburg district. The possibility of reserving seats in advance to ensure a pleasant and well-attended event was particularly highlighted.
