Complete closure of state road 2143: renovation between Poign and Weillohe

State road 2143 between Poign and Weillohe will be a construction site for several weeks from October 7, 2024. The Regensburg State Building Authority has announced that road renovation in this area is necessary in order to bring the road back into a traffic-safe condition. The work is expected to last until mid-November and will require a complete closure of the route.

A total of around 1.8 kilometers will be worked on, with the cost of the renovation estimated at around 600,000 euros. First, the existing asphalt layer, which is approximately 8 cm thick, is milled away. A new asphalt base layer of 8 cm and a 4 cm thick asphalt surface layer are then applied. In order to improve drainage, the road culverts and the drainage ditch will also be rebuilt. In addition, the shoulder, i.e. the edge of the road, will be widened and stabilized where possible. These measures are necessary because the road has been severely affected by its use as an alternative route and has numerous damages.

Detours and traffic disruptions

The diversion for traffic will be signposted and leads from the direction of Bad Abbach via Wolkering, Gebelkofen, Thalmassing and Teufelsmühle. The same route is used in the opposite direction. Those responsible are aware of the inconvenience that this work entails and are doing everything they can to keep the disruption to road users as low as possible. Nevertheless, we ask for your understanding of the unavoidable restrictions, especially for residents along the diversion routes.

It is important to note that the dates and time frames mentioned are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseeable factors. Residents and road users are asked to keep themselves regularly informed about the current status of the work.
