Free fiber optic connection: Hagelstadt starts broadband expansion!
Broadband expansion in Hagelstadt officially began on February 7, 2026. This offers citizens a free fiber optic connection to their homes. Residents were informed about this upcoming step in October last year. Citizens mainly received a letter from the gigabit company LNI asking for their consent for the fiber optic home connection. Some citizens also received a second letter with a permission agreement for access to the property.
However, for those who have not yet received a letter, there is no reason to worry. These citizens will be contacted at a later date. Particular attention is paid to the Gailsbach district, where not all current owners are registered in the land register due to an ongoing village renewal project. This could delay contact with affected citizens.
Inspections of the properties
From mid-February, inspections will be carried out on every property in Hagelstadt on behalf of the LNI. The aim of these inspections is to explore the local conditions and to precisely determine the type of development. Citizens who have not yet received an invitation letter by this point have the option of obtaining their consent.
The municipality of Hagelstadt is in close contact with the LNI and the executing company Walter Bauer. Mayor Thomas Scheuerer emphasizes the importance of a smooth expansion and emphasizes that the municipality is doing everything it can to make this process efficient. Further information on the conversion process is available in a special PDF document from Walter Bauer GmbH, which is available for interested citizens to view.
