Compost sites in Regenstauf and Beratzhausen: reopening on February 21st!

On February 21, 2026, the compost sites in Regenstauf and Beratzhausen as well as the green waste storage area in Pollenried will open again after the winter break. This was announced today. These facilities offer citizens the opportunity to donate green waste and purchase high-quality compost.

The opening times of the composting sites vary depending on the time of year. During the winter, the compost sites in Regenstauf and Beratzhausen are open on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the summer, opening hours are extended to Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Pollenried green waste storage area is open during the winter on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the summer time the opening hours are the same as at the other compost sites.

Additional information about the compost sites

The delivery of green waste and the sale of sieved compost and woody covering material are possible at these locations. The quality compost from the Regensburg district, which has had the RAL quality seal since June 2014, is particularly suitable for organic farming. For citizens who would like to deliver or pick up outside of regular opening hours, there is the option of making arrangements by telephone at the telephone number listed. This allows more flexibility for compost site customers.

Other compost sites in the district

In addition to the compost sites mentioned, there are other facilities in the southeastern district. This includes:

• Kompostplatz Hahn in Maiszant: Ganzjährig Montag bis Freitag von 7 bis 12 Uhr und 13 bis 17 Uhr, sowie samstags von 8 bis 12 Uhr.
• Kompostplatz Habermeier bei Buchhausen: Mittwoch von 14 bis 17 Uhr und samstags von 9 bis 12 Uhr.

The reopening of these compost sites is an important step to support citizens in disposing of garden waste in an environmentally friendly manner and to promote the recycling of green waste. Authorities hope that many local residents will take advantage of this opportunity.
