Youth Photo Prize Upper Palatinate 2026: Stage your favorite photo!
The 11th Upper Palatinate Youth Photo Prize is once again attracting young photo enthusiasts from the region this year. Under the motto “FAVORITE PHOTO”, all creative talents between the ages of 14 and 26 are invited to submit their best photos. The deadline for submitting photos is March 18, 2026. An independent jury of experts will select the best works, which will be awarded at the end of the competition. This event offers a non-commercial platform to promote the creativity and commitment of young photographers who are not allowed to work in a commercial context. [Duggendorf] reports that professional photographers are excluded from participation and that the photos submitted must not be of a commercial nature.
The Upper Palatinate Youth Photo Prize has been held annually since 2015 and is an initiative of the media advisory service for the Upper Palatinate district in collaboration with the Upper Palatinate District Youth Association. These competitions are not only intended to promote photography, but also to create a network for young photographers. The participating photographers have the opportunity to tell personal stories through their work and capture snapshots from their lives.
Competition details and awards ceremony
The conditions for participation are clearly defined: young people from Upper Palatinate between the ages of 14 and 26 who work non-commercially. Submissions can include either single images or series of up to six images. The winners of the various categories, including a prize for creative photorealistic images created with the help of artificial intelligence, remain exciting beyond the jury's decisions. [Oberpfalz district] emphasizes that there is also a public award, which is determined through online voting.
A celebratory award ceremony awaits the award winners in the Donau shopping center in Regensburg on May 23, 2025. These events can not only be used as a platform for the exchange of ideas and techniques, they also promote solidarity and inspiration among young talents in the Upper Palatinate.
