Bernhardswald plans renovation: citizen participation from January 19th!
The municipality of Bernhardswald is currently taking important steps to strengthen its urban development. As part of the project, an integrated urban development concept (ISEK) is being created, which is supported by the renowned planning office PLANWERK Stadtentwicklung from Nuremberg. This initiative is intended to help identify a targeted redevelopment area.
The local council already approved the ISEK report on July 16, 2025, which was the first milestone in this process. On November 12, 2025, the draft accompanying report as well as the justification and statutes for the redevelopment area were approved. Subsequently, the local council decided on a participation procedure in accordance with Sections 137 and 139 of the Building Code in conjunction with Section 4 Paragraph 2 of the BauGB. These legal bases are crucial for further planning and implementation of the measures.
Participation opportunities for the public
From January 19, 2026 to February 28, 2026, citizens have the opportunity to view the relevant documents in the municipality's town hall. The inspection times are as follows:

- Mittwoch: 13:00 – 18:00 Uhr
- Donnerstag: 8:00 – 12:00 Uhr
- Freitag: 8:00 – 12:00 Uhr
In addition, the documents will also be available on the homepage of the Municipality available. Concerns or suggestions from citizens can be submitted in writing or by email during the display period. It is important that comments are submitted on time as they are relevant to the decision on the restructuring statutes.
Overall, the municipality of Bernhardswald gives the population the opportunity to actively participate in urban development and to help shape future planning. This commitment by the local government shows how important it is to involve citizens in local decision-making processes.
