Musical mood for the Advent season
Under the direction ofDaniel Reisinger, himself an active musician, this year four different music ensembles are designing the program in the Basilica of St. Emmeram and immersing the church interior in a contemplative atmosphere.
The brass ensemble of the University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education (HfKM) in Regensburg brings together talented brass players, mostly HfKM students. Under the direction ofChristian HocherlThe group rehearses regularly to expand their repertoire and refine their musical skills. This close collaboration has created a strong community that is reflected in every performance. With a varied program that ranges from classical to modern pieces, the ensemble delights its audience and takes them on a fascinating musical journey.
Alpine Christmas carols and contemplative folk music
The musicianKarl Edelmanis part of the musical program in two constellations. That ofKarl EdelmanIn addition to classical chamber music, the Weilheim woodwind trio enthusiastically devotes itself to dances, yodeling and tunes from Alpine folk music. The trio, consisting ofKarl EdelmanandFidelis Edelmanon the clarinet as wellLeonhard Kohleron the bassoon, impresses with a homogeneous sound that is both clear and virtuoso. With musical joy, the ensemble performs on concert stages at secular and religious occasions.
The game musicKarl Edelmancombines traditional Alpine dance music with elegant courtly folk music to create charming “Bavarian chamber music”. The interaction of woodwinds, string and string instruments creates a wide variety of instrumentation options. In recent years the ensemble has performed in beautiful halls and traveled to Vienna, Paris and Switzerland. The highlights include invitations from radio and television companies as well as the successful CD “… on the go” from 2020. The ensemble's musical contributions are characterized by joy of playing, lightness and precise interaction, especially in the dance music of the Viennese classics.
Markus Tremmel leads through a diverse program
Markus Tremmelleads through the colorful and Christmassy afternoon. When he's not on the microphone at BR, you can probably find him somewhere on the old caravan routes of the East, in the wide space between the Bohemian Forest and the Pacific. In succinctly challenging and sometimes tongue-in-cheek texts, he looks at the events of the nativity scene and appeals for a necessary, contemporary nativity scene update.
