The nature park land is pedaling! European Mobility Week will take place from September 16th to 22nd.

In an exciting initiative to promote environmentally friendly transportation, the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park Land will actively participate in European Mobility Week from September 16th to 22nd. This week, launched by the European Commission, offers cities and municipalities the opportunity to present innovative and sustainable mobility solutions and inspire citizens to adopt environmentally conscious means of transport.

Mobility Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly transport. The 11 municipalities in the nature park area are calling on everyone to give up their cars for a week. This is not only an opportunity to reduce your own environmental footprint, but also a chance to discover the benefits of cycling and other alternative forms of transport.

Activities and challenges

Ilona Hunsperger, the manager of the Naturparkland, will set a personal example this week by cycling to work in Friedrichsburg. This is a great way to show that green mobility is not only possible but also practical. Citizens are invited to follow their example and share their experiences on Instagram using the hashtag #RadelnimNPL. This creates a lively community of cyclists who motivate each other.

To encourage participation, regional vouchers will be raffled off among those who share their experiences. This is a great way to support the local economy while celebrating the joy of cycling. Mobility Week is not only a challenge, but also a celebration of the possibilities that environmentally friendly transport offers us.

European Mobility Week is an excellent opportunity to rethink your own mobility and take action. Whether on foot, by bike or by public transport – everyone can make a contribution. The Nature Parkland invites everyone to take part in this important initiative and cycle together for a more sustainable future.
