Microcensus 2024: Last chance for 50,000 citizens to participate!

The microcensus is currently underway in Bavaria, an important survey that is carried out annually to collect information about the economic and social situation of the population. Unlike the comprehensive census, which takes place every ten years, the microcensus focuses on a smaller group of citizens. So far, around 70,000 people in Bavaria have already taken part in this survey, with many of them giving their answers by telephone. Online participation is also very popular.

The State Statistics Office has now announced that around 50,000 people still need to be contacted by the end of the year to provide their data. A total of 120,000 citizens in Bavaria are required to take part, which corresponds to one percent of the population. This information is crucial because it helps ensure that political decisions can be made on a solid basis of data.

Importance of participation

Participation in the microcensus is not only a legal obligation, but also an opportunity for citizens to actively participate in shaping their society. The data collected helps to get a clearer picture of the living conditions and challenges of people in Bavaria. This is particularly important for planning social programs and economic measures.

Respondents can participate in the survey in various ways. In addition to the telephone interview, there is also the option to answer the questions online, which makes the process easier and more convenient for many. The State Office for Statistics encourages everyone who is contacted to cast their vote and thus contribute to improving the data situation in Bavaria.
