The municipality of Püchersreuth is committed to offering its citizens a modern and stable internet. At a time when fast internet is more in demand than ever, be it for home offices, online lessons or simply for using multiple devices in your own home, expanding a high-performance fiber optic network is an important step. In collaboration with Deutsche Telekom, around 500 households now have the opportunity to be connected to the new fiber optic network.

This project is financed by funding from the Free State of Bavaria, which is provided as part of the Bavarian Gigabit Directive. In addition, the community bears its own share of the costs. However, for property owners in Püchersreuth, connection to the fiber optic network is completely free and without obligations.

Become active for the connection

In order to connect to the fiber optic network, the owners themselves have to take action. Deutsche Telekom is only allowed to lay the new fiber optic lines over private properties if the owners order this. It is therefore important that the affected households take care of their connection immediately.

Citizens have the opportunity to order the free fiber optic home connection and combine it with a tariff of their choice. The network is set up on a non-discriminatory basis and is also available to other Telekom partners.

It is important to note that the connection is only free if the order is placed on time. If you decide to connect later, you will have to expect costs.

The fiber optic connection will be implemented in three phases: First there is the booking phase, in which citizens must order their connection by December 31, 2024. The construction phase then begins, in which Telekom discusses the details with the owners. Finally, once construction is complete, users will be able to activate their fiber optic product and use the new network.
