Hummingbirds Reading Corner: Volunteers wanted for magical reading hours

The City of Neumarkt volunteer agency recently launched an exciting event that focuses attention on volunteer work in the Kolibris Reading Corner. As part of the “Look behind the scenes” series, the reading corner opened its doors and offered interested citizens the opportunity to find out more about the activities and offers. Those responsible for the reading corner presented what it means to be part of this special project and how you can get actively involved.

The Kolibris Reading Corner is a place that not only offers over 8,000 books to borrow, but also creates a creative environment for children. Here the little ones can not only read, but also write their own stories and make crafts. “We want to introduce children to the world of books with a lot of fairy dust,” explained Houman Feldberger, the founder of the reading corner. He emphasized that many committed helpers are needed to implement this vision.

Commitment and joy in volunteer work

The event offered those present the opportunity to find out about the various volunteer opportunities available. One of the helpers summed it up: “It’s heartwarming.” This statement illustrates how fulfilling the work in the reading corner is for the volunteers. The atmosphere was characterized by enthusiasm and the desire to introduce children to the joy of reading.

Anyone who is interested in getting involved in the Kolibris reading corner is warmly invited to contact us directly on site. Those responsible are happy about any support in order to further expand the offer and reach even more children. The reading corner is not only a place for reading, but also a space for creativity and community.
