Radiant potato festival in Weiding: celebrating enjoyment and community

A happy potato festival took place in the community of Weiding on Sunday, organized by the fruit and horticultural association. In bright sunshine and summer temperatures, numerous visitors flocked to the green area on Europaallee to enjoy the culinary delicacies and the festive atmosphere. The preparations for the festival were extensive, and chairwoman Roswitha Spießl and her team went to great lengths to make everything perfect.

Guests could look forward to a variety of regional specialties. From hearty kettle meat to grilled delicacies to a tempting cake buffet, there was something for every taste. The homemade Zwirl, which was served with cabbage or apple compote, was particularly popular. Visitors appreciated the opportunity to refresh themselves with cool drinks and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Diverse attractions and prizes

In addition to the culinary delights, there were also numerous stands from regional exhibitors who presented their crafts. These created an inviting atmosphere in the lovingly decorated school garden. The raffle tickets sold out quickly and participants could hope for great prizes, including a lawnmower as the main prize. The organizers thanked the many sponsors who supported the festival.

The site, which is in a quiet location away from the main road, proved ideal for the event. The visitors agreed that the investments in the infrastructure, such as the new multi-purpose container with toilet and storage room, enriched the festival. Chairwoman Spießl expressed her gratitude for the support of young and old who worked together to make the potato festival a success.

The members of the OGV proudly wore their new yellow and green outfits and made sure that the guests didn't lack for anything. Thanks to the many helping hands, the area was quickly cleaned up in the evening before the forecast rainy weather arrived. The potato festival was not only a culinary highlight, but also a great example of the community spirit in Weiding.
