Pinzing celebrates Kirchweih: a celebration of community and tradition
In Pinzing, a small village, a festive service was celebrated on Thursday evening that honored both the patronage and the church consecration. The parish of Dalking had invited the villagers and the weather cooperated: it remained dry so that the celebrations could take place outdoors. The forecourt of the Marienkapelle on Weidinger Strasse was well filled with believers who had gathered to commemorate the name day of the Mother of God.
Pastor Franz Merl was pleased with the large number of visitors. In his speech, he praised the Pinzing village community and the chapel preservation association for their tireless commitment. “God bless you,” he said, not only for the care of the chapel, but also for the regular prayers that take place there. The atmosphere was warm and many of those present, especially the women with the first name Maria, were greeted with a friendly handshake.
Festive celebrations and community spirit
Stefan Spindler took care of the Catholic flag and brought the organ into the chapel. Organist Antonia Wutz accompanied the congregation's singing on the song sheet provided. During the Holy Mass, the deceased from the local clubs were also remembered, which made the celebrations even more meaningful. After the service, Anton Staudner, the chairman of the chapel association, invited everyone present to a convivial celebration on the forecourt.
The villagers had prepared numerous delicacies in advance that were enjoyed during the celebration. In pleasant weather, the community stayed outside for a long time to properly celebrate the name day of the Mother of God, Mary. The church fair and the patronage ceremony were therefore not only experienced as religious events, but also as an opportunity to strengthen the community spirit in Pinzing.
