Budget 2024: Weiding invests in new crèche despite challenges
Things are getting exciting in the community of Weiding because the financial challenges are increasing. At the last meeting of the local council it became clear that the days when the coffers were well filled are over. Mayor Daniel Paul emphasized that despite the tense situation, there is no reason to panic. The community has made progress in recent years and will continue to be active in the future. There is a lot to do and those responsible are determined to move forward with the upcoming projects.
Budget planning and construction projects
A central topic of the meeting was the construction of the new daycare center on Pfarrer-Spießl-Platz. In order to realize this project, a loan of 550,000 euros is required. At the same time, a repayment of 340,000 euros is due in 2024. Treasurer Wolfgang Gruber explained that it might be possible to avoid new net debt if some income and expenses develop favorably. The budget was approved without any dissenting votes, which shows that all political groups are behind the plans.
In addition, several building applications were approved, including the construction of a storage area and a parking lot in Friedendorf and a structural application for a single-family home in Dalking. These projects are part of efforts to improve the community's infrastructure and meet the needs of citizens.
The most important figures of the 2024 budget are impressive: the administrative budget amounts to 5.5 million euros, while the asset budget is 2.9 million euros. Trade tax is estimated at 1.1 million euros and key allocations are 630,000 euros. This income is crucial to cover ongoing expenses and investments.
The largest expenses in the financial budget are the construction of a new crèche and the broadband expansion, which will cost a total of 920,000 euros. The purchase of a multi-purpose vehicle for the construction yard and the modernization of the heating system in the old school are also important items. The community receives funding from the Free State of Bavaria and the federal government for these investments, which eases the financial burden somewhat.
A look into the future shows that the Weiding community wants to remain active in the coming years. Planned projects until 2027 include, among other things, the construction of the new fire station and the further expansion of the digital infrastructure. These measures are necessary to ensure the quality of life in Weiding and to make the community sustainable.
