The Dalking women's community climbs the Lusen summit in brilliant weather
The Dalking Women's Community took advantage of the last warm days of summer to undertake their annual hike. This year the route led to the impressive Lusen peak in the Bavarian Forest. The participants started their journey with a bus that took them to the Fredenbrücke hiking car park, which is located below the picturesque mountain village of Waldhäuser. In ideal weather that wasn't too hot, the hiking enthusiasts set off towards the summit.
The hiking trail meandered along the Kleine Ohe to Martinsklause, a historic place that was once built for the Holztrift. From there it went steeply uphill to the Teufelsloch, another prominent point on the route. The hikers had to fight their way over the challenging stone blocks of the Himmelsleiter before reaching the Lusen summit after around two and a half hours. The effort was rewarded with a breathtaking view that quickly made us forget the effort. After the summit experience, the hikers stopped at the Lusenschutzhaus to fortify themselves.
A heartfelt thank you
On the way back, the participants chose the winter path, which led them safely back to the starting point. Regina Paul, chairwoman of the women's community, expressed her gratitude to the numerous participants who joined the hike. Her enthusiasm about the large number of participants was clearly noticeable and she was pleased that so many people had taken the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and spend time together.
The hike to the Lusen summit is not only a sporting challenge, but also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the community and experience the impressive landscape of the Bavarian Forest. Such events not only promote health but also social cohesion among members of the women's community.
