Last Sunday little Hannes, the first child ofKimberly KettlandBenedict Bucherfrom Weiding, received the sacrament of baptism in the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Dalking. PastorFranz Merlfetched the parents and the godparentsMarcel KettlandJulian Bucherat the main entrance and opened the liturgical celebration.
Solemn ceremony
This was followed by a reading from the Gospel, a speech and a litany with intercessions. The priest was pleased that the parents had decided to raise their son in the faith and let him become part of the large Catholic religious community. Merl appealed to the baptismal community, especially the parents and godparents, to always incorporate baptism into daily life with all its challenges. During the intercessions they wished the child self-confidence, happiness and much success in life.
The ceremonial baptism with holy water took place at the baptismal font. The person being baptized endured the baptism with a lot of kicking. He was then anointed with chrism. After the baptismal candle was handed over, the father lit it from the Easter candle. The duo Herzbluat provided the musical accompaniment.
