VG Weiding company outing: A day full of community and adventure
The employees of the communities of Weiding and Gleissenberg as well as the school association and the administrative community recently experienced an unforgettable company outing. On Thursday morning, participants gathered at City Hall, where Mayor Daniel Paul warmly welcomed the group. He was pleased with the high level of participation and emphasized how important such joint excursions are for team spirit and the positive atmosphere in the workplace. After a small breakfast with pretzels we set off.
An exciting day full of experiences
The first destination of the day was the impressive Rosenburg Castle in Riedenburg. A fascinating bird of prey show awaited the excursionists there, which was a real highlight for many. The majestic birds flew just a few meters above the heads of the spectators and caused great enthusiasm. After this exciting experience, we continued to the “Faßlwirtschaft”, where a tasty lunch was waiting for the group.
Strengthened and full of anticipation, the group then set off on a boat trip from Kelheim to Weltenburg. The bright blue sky and the picturesque landscape along the Danube made this half-hour trip another highlight of the day. On board, participants enjoyed cool drinks and ice cream while admiring the impressive rock formations. When arriving in Weltenburg, a visit to the monastery wall with the high water marks of recent years was a must.
Particularly striking was the marking of the flood of June 5th, which caused a stir this year. In Weltenburg, which is considered the spiritual center of Lower Bavaria, the excursionists had the opportunity to relax in the shady beer garden or visit the baroque Asam Church. Some even ventured to Frauenberg, one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in Bavaria, from where they could enjoy breathtaking views of the monastery, the Danube and the surrounding Jura rocks.
On the way back, Mayor Paul thanked the organizers, manager Andreas Engl and secretary Eva Schmatz, for the excellent planning and implementation of the excursion. The participants returned home with many new impressions and a feeling of togetherness.
