Altenschneeberg fire department celebrates helpers with a festive thank you evening
The Altenschneeberg fire department concluded its 100th anniversary celebrations with a ceremonial closing ceremony. Last weekend, a thank you event took place in the Alfred Vögl hall for the numerous helpers who contributed to the success of the festival. Chairman Alexander Horn welcomed those present, including Mayor Ludwig Prögler and his deputy Nikolaus Scherr, and expressed his gratitude for their support.
“It takes a lot of hands to hold a party like this,” remarked Horn as he looked at the around 150 guests in the hall. To thank the helpers for their efforts, he invited them to a rich buffet prepared by innkeeper Georg Häusler. A special moment was the honoring of Josef Wittmann, who was honored for 50 years of active service in the fire department. Wittmann, who joined the fire department in 1974, held various management positions and was significantly involved in the new construction of the fire department.
Honors and words of thanks
Horn presented Wittmann with a certificate of thanks and a symbolic gift for his many years of dedicated work. Franz Roith, who was unable to be present that evening, was also recognized for his support. Horst Finger, who documented the festivities photographically, put together a photo book that gave guests the opportunity to review the highlights of the anniversary.
Further thanks went to the ladies of the cheer club, who were mentioned by name and received recognition for their support. Mayor Prögler particularly remembered the impressive festival service and the large vintage car meeting, which caused traffic chaos on the festival Sunday. “You definitely did everything right,” he praised the organizers and presented a new mourning ribbon for the club flag.
The evening ended with thanks to Alfred Vögl for providing the hall in which the celebrations took place. The underfloor heating was particularly appreciated by the guests and ensured a pleasant atmosphere during the event.
