New disposal rules at the cemetery: Mayor calls for more care

The municipality points out important regulations for the disposal of grave plants. There are obviously problems after a restructuring. The mayor and municipal administration react to this with incomprehension.

Disposal guidelines for grave candles

Only grave candles may be disposed of in the brown and labeled bins. These should be treated as residual waste. All other plastic containers and bags must be taken away and disposed of at the recycling center. The brown bins are not intended for this.

Dispose of grave plants properly

The community requires that all grave plants suitable for disposal be disposed of in the new green waste container behind the mortuary. It is not permitted to simply deposit them next to them. “The construction yard employees and the cemetery staff have to spend a lot of time sorting through the rubbish, which makes no sense but is just work,” says the mayorWolfgang Daschner. Ornamental shrubs, wreaths, arrangements and woody waste must also be disposed of by each user themselves.

Appeal to citizens

The administration asks citizens to observe the new regulations. We also ask that you treat the cemetery grounds with care. After such deposits, which are costly for the community, consistent measures are foreseeable.
