150 years of Lixenried Fire Department: A celebration full of tradition and community
The Lixenried Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a big ceremony. On the last Saturday, numerous members marched to Gleissenberg with a beer keg and brass music. There they want to win the support of the sponsoring associations from Gleissenberg and Ried for their anniversary celebration next June.
Parade and requests for godparents
The pageant is led by the two festival directorsChristoph HofmannandHans Bösllisted. An ancient wheelbarrow with a beer barrel and goat, the symbol for the “Goaß-Landler”, is patronTobias Meierpushed. At his side are the festival mothersVeronika Ruhlandand the festival bridePetra Huber. Also the honorary patronMichael Englis part of the game.

The board membersStefan Rampffrom Gleissenberg andThomas Weingärtnerfrom Ried, however, make it clear that the Lixenrieders first have to put four pieces of the puzzle together in order to receive support. Some responsible persons from Lixenried, including:Christian Bösl,Sebastian GruberandDaniel Lankes, face tricky tasks. There are competitions such as drinking beers on exes and quizzes that provide great fun for viewers.
Successful requests for sponsorship
After some effort, the four pieces of the puzzle are finally together. boardRampfsays: “We are now very satisfied, the Rieders have made a decision, and I can officially promise you that we will sponsor you.” This will be initiated immediately. The standard bearers from Lixenried, Ränkam, Gleißenberg and Ried wave the club flags accompanied by the Pfeffer brass band.
In the fully occupied multi-purpose hall in Gleissenberg, the club representatives celebrate the successful request for sponsorship. Brass music, the festival beer from Arnschwang and a hearty dinner from the Fellner butcher shop in Furth im Wald ensure a hearty atmosphere. Everyone is looking forward to the upcoming five-day festival.
