Benno Krumpholz ensures perfect snow fun in Sulzbach-Rosenberg!

In the region around Sulzbach-Rosenberg, volunteer Benno Krumpholz provides winter activities. On January 9th, 2026 he groomed the cross-country ski trails in Fichtelbrunn, thereby significantly improving the opportunities for cross-country skiing fans. This initiative is supported by the city, which expressly thanks Krumpholz for his tireless efforts. The cross-country ski trail equipment used for this work was purchased by the city in 2017 and has proven to be essential for maintaining the cross-country ski trails.

The cross-country ski trail in Fichtelbrunn, known as the Flugplatzrunde, is prepared for both classic technique and skating. It is part of a comprehensive network of cross-country ski trails in the region, which attracts numerous athletes into the wintery nature. A particularly popular main cross-country ski trail leads from Sulzbach-Rosenberg to Bachetsfeld and back and is around 15 kilometers long. In addition to this main route, there are other cross-country trails, including one in Erlheim with a length of around 3.5 kilometers and one around Bernricht near Edelsfeld, which is around 3.3 kilometers long.
